| Description | The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national-level examination that evaluates candidatesโ comprehensive understanding of undergraduate-level subjects in Engineering, Technology, Science, Architecture, Commerce, Arts, and Humanities. GATE 2026 is conducted by IISc and all IITs on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. Eligibility Candidates in the 3rd year or higher of any UG degree program or those who have completed any government-approved degree in Engineering/Technology/Science/Architecture/Commerce/Arts/Humanities. Exam Mode Computer-Based Test (CBT) at designated centres across India. GATE Papers AE, AG, AR, BM, BT, CE, CH, CS, CY, DA, EC, EE, ES, EY, GE, GG, IN, MA, ME, MN, MT, NM, PE, PH, PI, ST, TF, XE, XH, XL. Opportunities Admission with possible financial assistance to Masterโs, Direct Doctoral, and Doctoral programs in MoE-supported institutions. Admission to PG programs without MoE scholarship in certain institutions. Recruitment by several PSUs using GATE score. Important Dates Online Registration (Regular): 25 Aug โ 25 Sep 2025 Extended Registration with Late Fee: till 06 Oct 2025 Exam Dates: 7, 8, 14 & 15 Feb 2026 Result Announcement: 19 Mar 2026 (Dates are subject to change) Application Fee (Per Test Paper) Female / SC / ST / PwD: โน1000 (Regular), โน1500 (Late) Others: โน2000 (Regular), โน2500 (Late) For two papers: Fee is double the single paper fee. Special Note New sectional paper on Energy Science introduced in Engineering Sciences (XE). Candidates can appear for one or two papers (from pre-approved combinations).
